When one suffers from the lack of resources, he tries to earn money in the most controversial way. People take advantage of their position and take money for their illegal services. Corruption touches upon every branch of life; education is not an exception. Although many developed countries have managed to reduce corruption in their education systems, there are cases that still prove its existence. Above all things, corruption exists in preschool education. Many kindergartens and schools do not accept children without a bribe. They claim that they cannot take another child whereas a school building is too small for so many students. What is more, parents have to bribe principals and other authorities to provide their children from the subordinate areas with a place at the chosen school. Sad to say but there are countries where parents bribe teachers in order to make them pay attention to the educational progress of their children. This situation is common in the majority of the developing countries. According to the statistics, the most corruptive states are Mexico, Indonesia, India, Japan and Russia.

For example, more than 71% of Russian respondents said that they bribed teachers at least once in their life. The same answer appeared among the 60% of Indian students. It is strange to see Japan among the most corruptive economies in the system of education. It means that corruption is not always the result of low income and shortage of resources.

This child will copy his parents’ behavior and he will bribe everyone in order to make his life easier. If we want to cope with corruption, we should defeat it in our minds.
