Davy Crockett, born 17 August 1786 in Greene County, Tennessee, died 6 March 1836 at the Battle of the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas, was an American folk hero and politician (Whig), who represented Tennessee in the U.S. Congress, in 1827-1831 and 1833-1835.
